We were overjoyed to work with two very special brides, Maddy and Bridget, who share a lifelong friendship. Their story begins not with their engagements but with a bond that spanned decades. Maddy and Bridget first met in first grade, when Maddy was 7 and Bridget was 6, immediately forming an unbreakable bond that has withstood the test of time. Over the years, they have shared life’s highs and lows, marveling at the rarity of a friendship that not only endures but grows stronger through every stage of life. More than 25 years later, they remain best friends now experiencing the excitement of engagement ring design, proposals, weddings, and embarking on a new phase of life with their husbands (who are also best friends!) and pups. Their Hannah Florman Fine Jewelry journey celebrated love, life, and distinctive yet timeless designs.

Maddy & Brian
Mothers always know best!
Maddy and Brian’s story began with a chance encounter at a popular outdoor bar in Boston. While out for cocktails, Maddy and Bridget’s mothers spotted a group of charming, polite men and seized the opportunity quickly calling their daughters and encouraging them to join. That spontaneous decision led Maddy to meet Brian, her future husband.
When the time was right, Bridget, a long-time admirer of Hannah Florman Fine Jewelry, introduced Maddy to HF, knowing the value of working with a local, female-owned jeweler. Together, we began crafting Maddy and Brian’s vision for the perfect ring.
Maddy envisioned something truly unique, and after carefully sourcing numerous diamonds, we found her perfect match: a very elongated oval (almost moval) with soft, rounded shoulders. She adored its gentle curves and timeless elegance, paired with a hidden halo for just the right touch of sparkle. Throughout the design process, both Maddy and Brian were deeply involved in the design process, ensuring that every detail of the ring was a reflection of their love story.
Brian planned a romantic proposal on a scenic hike to Mount Kearsarge in New Hampshire, with their beloved dog, Poppy, by their side. At the summit, Brian’s brother was positioned to capture the special moment, made even more memorable with guidance from our designer to perfectly stage the scene.

Following their engagement, Maddy’s dream stack came to life. We paired her elongated oval ring with a matching oval eternity band and a delicate yellow gold round band, creating a stunning triple-stack that beautifully complemented her style. (Pro Tip: Spacer bands are crucial to protect diamonds from rubbing and causing damage—plus, they’re an adorable addition to any set.)
To complete her wedding day look, Maddy’s mother gifted her a custom round diamond tennis necklace set in 14k yellow gold. Designed to complement her gown and be worn daily, this heirloom piece is a timeless treasure she’ll cherish forever
Maddy and Brian celebrated their love with a beautiful wedding, where Bridget stood by her side as maid of honor.

Bridget & Matt
Matt and Bridget met during a casual double date on a cold winter night during the pandemic. What began as an easygoing evening quickly turned into a long night full of laughter, sparking a connection that only grew stronger over time.
After dating for several years, Matt surprised Bridget with a private design appointment at Hannah Florman for her birthday, knowing her love for our work. We transformed our private studio, The Brownstone, into an intimate, celebratory space complete with champagne and a curated selection of emerald-cut diamonds. To keep the proposal and the final ring a surprise, Matt worked closely with our designer, Danielle, to perfect the design: a breathtaking yellow gold solitaire featuring a stunning emerald-cut diamond.
The proposal was just as special as that initial appointment. Under the pretense of a "Christmas card photoshoot" for their beloved dog, Miley, Matt planned the perfect moment to pop the question. Bridget had always wanted photos of Miley for the holidays, making this the perfect cover for his surprise!
"Halfway through the shoot, he got down on one knee! It was so special to have the iconic Boston location, be dressed up, and have our dog there. It was truly magical," Bridget shared. Matt even went the extra mile to conceal the surprise by using an unmarked ring box. When Bridget saw the ring, she exclaimed, “WAIT, is this the stone from HF?!” before saying yes.
